Papua New Guinea Fights Illegal Logging with Helveta

Helveta Ltd., the provider of supply chain intelligence software, CI World™, for the forest sector, today announces a two-year pilot project with Société Générale de Surveillance S.A. (SGS) to provide the Government of Papua New Guinea (PNG) with a National Timber Tracking System. Working with the PNG Forest Authority (PNGFA), the project will enable wood products to be tracked from log yard to domestic use or export, helping to deal with perceptions of illegal logging which have, to date, blighted the Nation’s environmental policy to conform to sustainable forest management.
