Peter Linthwaite, Managing Partner CT Investment Partners LLP
Peter joined CTIP in April 2008. Prior to his role at CTIP, Peter was Chief Executive of the British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (BVCA), the UK’s private equity industry-body. Peter has been actively involved in the venture capital and private equity industry for over 20 years. He was a founding Director of Royal London Private Equity Limited, the UK mid-market private equity house. Previously Peter has served as Executive Director of Murray Johnstone Ltd, during which time he was Managing Director, Murray Johnstone Asia Ltd, Singapore, 1995-2001 and Director, Murray Johnstone Private Equity Ltd, London, 1990-1995. Peter had an early career in banking and corporate finance after reading Law at New College, Oxford University.
Jonathan Bryers, Partner CT Investment Partners LLP
Jonathan joined the Carbon Trust in 2001 and was a founding Partner of CTIP in 2006. He researched, designed and launched the Carbon Trust Business Incubator Programme in 2003, through which over 100 companies have now passed. Jonathan has over 15 years fund management experience including over 11 years in Clean Tech. Prior to the Carbon Trust, Jonathan worked at Coller Capital, a private equity Secondaries Fund, and Flemings Investment Management, as a buy-side analyst on the UK and Japanese market. Jonathan is responsible for CTIP’s investments in 4energy, New Earth Solutions, Open Energi, Acal Energy, Green Biologics Ltd, and Heliswirl Technologies Ltd. Jonathan holds an MA in Business Studies/French-University of Edinburgh; an MA in Japanese Area Studies from SOAS, London University; and an MSc in Environmental Technology (Energy) from Imperial College, London. Jonathan is a member of the BVCA’s Energy Environment and Technology Board.
Adam Workman, Partner CT Investment Partners LLP

Adam joined the Carbon Trust from 3i in 2002 and was a founding Partner of CTIP in 2006. He has over 13 years experience in the energy and venture capital sector. His investments include CamSemi, Marine Current Turbines and Intamac. Recently he co-authored the Carbon Trust’s report into investment trends the European Clean Energy Sector with New Energy Finance. Adam also sits on the European advisory panel for the Cleantech Group. He formerly worked with 3i and Shell Exploration. He has an MA in Natural Sciences and a Postgraduate diploma in Computer Science from Cambridge University.
Ed Simpson, Investment Manager

Ed joined CTIP in November 2009. Prior to CTIP, Ed was an Assistant Director at Bridges Ventures, a lower mid-market investor, where he focussed on the environmental sector. He was previously an investment manager of The Capital Fund which was managed by YFM. Ed qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen in 1998. He spent 4 years at Equinox Securities, a corporate finance advisory business, where he advised on over 20 corporate finance and venture capital transactions for a range of private companies. He left Equinox to be CFO / COO of a business which explored a potential BIMBO in 2006. He has led or managed 16 investments, including Carbon Trust’s investment in AeroThermal Groupand has managed 2 profitable exits. He has an MA in Economics from Cambridge University.
Michael Bakewell – Investment Manager Warrington

His early career was with Barclays Bank, mainly in the City of London, followed by senior management positions within SMEs and business support roles with the Welsh Development Agency. Mike has an MBA from the Open Business School.
Peter Johnston, Finance and Compliance Manager
Peter joined CTIP in February 2011. Prior to joining CTIP, Peter worked for the Carbon Trust as a Financial Accountant, with the responsibility for the accounting of a number of entities within the Carbon Trust group, namely investment and enterprise companies. Peter qualified as a Chartered Accountant with haysmacintyre in 2009, gaining experience in both the commercial and ‘not for profit’ sectors. Peter has a MA in Economics from Glasgow University.
Claire Hall, PA & Operations Assistant

Claire joined CTIP in August 2010 from the Carbon Trust where she was International Co-ordinator and managed a £1,5m budget for the team in London, China and the US. Claire has previously worked for Schlumberger Oilfield Services in London and One Digital Media in South Africa.
Lynsey Barnes, PA & Operations Assistant Warrington
Lynsey joined CTIP in January 2011, appointed as Operations Administrator for the North West Fund for Energy and Environmental, based at the Warrington office. Prior to her role at CTIP, Lynsey spent five years at Alliance Fund Managers, were she was the Fund Administrator for £19 million fund and also the Daily Post & Echo in Liverpool.
Dr Simon Crook, Venture Partner

Simon has 15 years experience in Energy and Technology commercialisation.
Previously Head of Cleantech at Gazprom and Senior Manager at Grant Thornton Corporate Finance, as well as holding roles at Angle Technology, as Cleantech Incubator Director, Scientific Generics and Exxon Mobil. Simon provides a range of services to CT Investment Partners covering early-stage origination and interim management. Simon holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Cambridge University, an MBA from Kingston Business School and a Chemical Engineering MEng from Nottingham University.
